2 Kings 4:16 KJV
And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

Sometimes we have a particular problem for so long that we accept it as a habit that is part and parcel of us. Even when we receive a prophesy or a message of God about it, we react with scoffing and unbelief. We should believe that with God on our side everything is possible and we should not doubt His words.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb. 11:6).

Genesis 45:8 KJV
So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Sometimes things happen in our lives that in the moment do not seem to fit in the plan that a good God should have for His children. It is only later down the road that the pieces of our lives may start to come together to make sense, and we will finally understand why God allowed certain things to happen. In the meantime, we can only trust God and believe He has the best plans for our lives. “I have learned that faith means trusting in advance what will only make sense in reverse” (Philip Yancey).

Hard Heart, Soft Heart

2 Thessalonians 3:13 KJV
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

In a world where there is a high probability of being taken for granted when you always want to do right, it is no wonder even nice-hearted people may try to harden their hearts to integrate into the society. The world needs more goodness, not more hardened hearts. “It’s the hard things that break; soft things don’t break. You can waste so many years of your life trying to become something hard in order not to break; but it’s the soft things that can’t break! The hard things are the ones that shatter into a million pieces!” (C. JoyBell C).

Proverbs 4:26 KJV
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

The world has a lot of distractions to offer. The negative words of an unsupportive friend or family, people’s opinions, unforeseen circumstances etc; all these can serve as tools to distract us from achieving our life’s purpose. If you are not focused on your goals in life, you will one day look back and wonder where all the years went, and have noone but yourself to blame. “I don’t focus on what I’m up against. I focus on my goals and I try to ignore the rest” (Venus Williams).
