Playing the Cards Right

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 KJV

And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Our past do not have to become our future. What we were yesterday does not have to be what we become tomorrow. Others’ expectations, pronouncements and prophesies do not have to become our reality. If you do not like your status quo, change it. Talk to the right people who can make a difference, and ultimately, take responsibility for your life. “It’s not about the cards you’re dealt, but how you play the hand” (Randy Pausch).
