It’s the end of the year🎉🎉

Ecclesiastes 7:8 ESVBetter is the end of a thing than its beginning,
All too soon the year 2016 has almost ended. We thank God for bringing us thus far. However it was, we prepare to leave it behind knowing we gave it our best shot. “Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one” (Brad Paisley).

Faith is not an opium

Romans 1:17 NKJV For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Contrary to popular belief, faith and intellect are not mutually exclusive. Faith is not an “opium of the masses”. “Faith…is the art of holding unto things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods… Consequently one must train the habit of Faith” (C.S. Lewis).

The reason for the season

2 Samuel 11:4 NKJV Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her,

Exodus 2:12 NKJV  : So he[Moses] looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.(mine in bracket).
Without Christ the best of us is the worst. While celebrating the season, let us keep in mind the reason for the season. “The Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God” (C.S. Lewis).

Happy holidays!!!

Don’t follow your heart

Proverbs 23:19 NKJV Hear, my son, and be wise;

And guide your heart in the way.

Mark 7:21 NKJV

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

1 John 3:20 NKJV

…God is greater than our heart,

There are some sayings like, “Follow your heart”, “let your heart guide you” etc. While these may be said with good intentions, it may not always be the best course of action. The heart doesn’t have a mind of its own. You do. Before you “follow your heart”, check the matter with its consistency with the Word of God.

Merry Christmas to All…

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
“The Church does not superstitiously observe days, merely as days, but as memorials of important facts. Christmas might be kept as well upon one day of the year as another; but there should be a stated day for commemorating the birth of our Saviour, because there is danger that what may be done on any day, will be neglected” ~Samuel Johnson.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas this season🎄

Matthew 12:36-37 NKJV But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

James 3:10 NKJV

Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

Words have power. “Words are seeds that do more than blow around. They land in our hearts and not the ground. Be careful what you plant and careful what you say. You might have to eat what you planted one day (Unknown).

Intrinsic value

Genesis 15:1 NKJV After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
Though Christianity has its rewards, the main focus has always been the relationship restored between man and God. “God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing”- (C.S. Lewis).
