Reciprocity

1 Thessalonians 4:9 NKJV But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Though true, sometimes we hide behind this adage to point fingers at others whom we feel have despised us, forgetting that relationships are reciprocal. We don’t give people the benefit of the doubt or reach out to them to find out why they may seem to withdraw. If you expect to receive love, give it as unconditionally as you expect it. Don’t hold others to a standard you are not willing to hold yourself to.
