“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Aw, God I feel terrible. How many times we read the bible but don’t take it seriously enough?
About an hour or two ago, my sister received an unwanted visitor who did not call her on the phone and presumptuously arrived at our doorstep. She asked me to lie that she wasn’t around or she would never talk to me again. I told her no earlier, but about forty-five minutes later he was still there shouting her name. In a passive-aggressive style I told him he should have called her, she wasn’t around, and he could come later. I feel like such a fool. I chose her over Christ!
Annoyingly, later someone knocked and my sis was scared that the guy was back! What was I thinking? Well, I’ve asked for forgiveness and all.
Then I saw a devotional email about the above verse. Thank God for forgiveness.
